The Indian Society of Coastal Agricultural Research (ISCAR), established in 1983, is a pioneer scientific body in India engaged in establishing linkage among scientists, academicians, Research Institutes, Universities and NGOs, for co-ordination of overall research activities related to agriculture in coastal areas of the country. It publishes a regular research journal “Journal of the Indian Society of Coastal Agricultural Research” and holds meetings, workshops, seminars, etc. to keep a close exchange of views among the farmers and researchers working on different problems of agriculture and allied sectors in coastal areas. The society has already held thirteen National Seminars/Symposiums and two International Symposiums in various parts of the country.
